How Background Checks Work

1️⃣ Background checks are required if your match enables them.

Women interested in men have the option to enable background checks. This means their matches must pass before proposing a date.
In non-heterosexual matches, the person who sets the dealbreakers controls whether a background check is required.
The person taking the background check is responsible for paying the fee. In heterosexual matches, if a woman enables the background check, the man must cover the fee.
The Skip App background check feature ensures that if you enable background checks, you won’t be going on dates with anyone who hasn’t passed one.

2️⃣ You can voluntarily complete a background check at any time.

A badge will be displayed on your profile once you pass.
A passed background check is valid for 12 months and applies to all your dates.

What Happens After You Submit a Background Check?

✅ If You Pass:

A background check badge will appear on your profile.
If your match requires a background check, passing it will allow you to send a date proposal.

❌ If You Don’t Pass:

For safety reasons, users who do not pass will be suspended from the app for 12 months before they can re-submit a background check to regain access.
If you believe the results are inaccurate, you may submit an appeal.
